Virasana reduce high blood pressure and asthma

YOGA: Hero pose (Virasana)

The name Hero comes from the Sanskrit words “Vira” – meaning “Hero” or “Man” and “Pose” meaning “Asana” or “Posture”. So this pose is also called “Virasana” one of the most popular poses in the entire yoga style. This is a basic seated asana for various forward and backward bending positions. This asana also practice as an alternative posture of lotus pose (Padmasana).

Variations include downward facing dog pose and reclining hero pose.

Start practicing this pose.

  • At first kneel on your yoga mat and keep your hip width apart. Always keep your upper body part straight.
  • Remember your ankle should be in the line correctly with your knees and the top of the feet need to be resting on the yoga mat.
  • Now bend your hips and bring your upper body at the front, until your rest your forehead on the floor, at least 30-32 cm ahead for your knees.
  • Now bring your palms at the back of you to rest on the calves and try to smooth them back to comfortably that you put pressure on the calf muscles.
  • Now the time to sit back between the ankles. Sit straight as much as you can but comfortably with and make your spine straight.
  • Now you need to lean back and keep your hands at your back.
  • Just rest on the elbows with the tore arms on the floor that your hands can touch your feet properly.
  • Now comfortably lower the rest of your body on the floor and stretch the arms over the head along the ground.
  • Tuck in your chin.
  • Hold this yoga pose for 3-4 breaths and now you can release.
